The Purr-Fect Rene Russo Photoshoot (season 2, episode 2) - A Catherine Banning inspired photoshoot !

This week I choose Catherine Banning as inspiration of Rene's photoshoot due to the fact the movie The Thomas Crown Affair will be 21 on Thursday, August 6. And I imagined a different Catherine Banning, wearing fine lingerie, a few jewels, some sexy and elegant clothing. 

Rene and our team left California for a while. Our next destination was to Mackinac Island, in Michigan and we went there by plane from LA International Airport. As we came to the destination, we took a cab to the Grand Hotel, it's a perfect setting for the Catherine Banning shoot.   

The time we arrived at the hotel and we ordered a room to stay for a few days, I explained the photoshoot to Rene, and I said it had a few elements of Catherine Banning that it will be used on the editorial (except for the nude part, lol).

Look 01

As we entered the room, Rene took off her clothes little by little, because she was training the dance she'll do later on the photoshoot, and it was for Vanity Fair. Ms Russo put on her panty, and I'll helped to put her corset and a few jewels. Later, Rene put on her blazer and pants from Villa Amour Vintage, and some ankle boots. 

At the same time Rene was doing her makeup and hair with Kéla and Shane, Tony and I helped with the instructions of the first set, on a beautiful bed.

Rene was ready, and Mr Duran started clicking, he was so impressed with her eye contact. Then, she lied on the bed, and showed some seduction, beyond her comfort.

Look 02

Before Rene moving to the second look, I helped taking off her corset. Corsets are hard specially to take off. While she puts a comfy look, I had a little surprise for her: a beautiful necklace with her name "Rene", made in 24 karat gold. Interesting, isn't it? Fortunately, she put this piece of jewelry on. 

Rene came near the window, and again, Tony clicked wonderfully her. In the middle of the shoot, Tony asked to take off her jacket and lower her pants a little bit, so she can look sexy. 

When we all finished the second set, the team waited the night to come, and so Rene had all the opportunity to praise her character Catherine Banning and how important she was to her...  

Look 03 

The night came and the best was yet to come. I arranged a pair of spotlights, one red and one blue. As I did that, Rene was ready to shine. She wore a beautiful lingerie and some pink shorts both from Lulus. Shane messed her hair a bit, for Rene's Catherine Banning to have a girly, but femme fatale side. 

The setting was on the sofa, and Rene hugged some pillows while Tony took some pics. She also did some great variety of poses, like stretching her legs.  

Look 04

After the girly set, Rene was so excited for the finale. Ms Russo and I were sitting in a corner, organizing her last wonderful and sexy look: a sexy French lingerie combo (bra, panty, stockings and garter belt), a chemise and a tricot from Villa Amour, and to end with golden key, a pair of Brian Atwood pumps. 

Before the show begins, Shane retouched a bit of lipstick and a few mascara. 

Again, Rene was 1000% ready for the shoot. She took a chair with her, and I put the music Money Can't Buy It, by Annie Lennox. Rene started dancing and Tony started shooting, telling her not to stop. 

She started taking off her tricot, and showed some femme fatale body and facial expressions, and she ended the photoshoot only in her lingerie and in her high heels, in great style <3 ! And we all loved it !

After the shoot ended, we celebrated it with a bottle of champagne.

Rene Russo and her similarity with Jean-Paul Gaultier clothing !

Besides Rene Russo doesn't wear any Jean-Paul Gaultier clothing, this wonderful actress and Jean-Paul Gaultier fashion have some good things in common: sexiness, elegance and extravagance. 

For those who don't know this wonderful designer, Jean-Paul Gaultier was born in April 24, 1952, in Arcueil, France. Besides working for his own brand, Gaultier also worked for Hermès between 2003 and 2010, and he's one of my favorite fashion designers since 2003, when I was a kid (just way before becoming fan of NYC designer Stella B. Zotis in 2008)!

This look above represents the "elegance" side of Rene, according to JPG's style. Along with the simplicity of the blazer and the skirt, there's something that makes go "wow"! And this "wow" factor includes the wonderful stockings, it shows her wonderful legs. 

And I'd never forget the dress, blazer and shirt ensemble Rene wore on Thomas Crown Affair. It expresses the "sexiness" and "extravagance", according to JPG's style. It's a look we all fall in love with. But when Ms Russo takes off her blazer, our hearts pound faster, because there's something "erotic" in her with only the dress and the shirt. WORK IT GIRL !!!

Today I'll start a new segment on this Rene Russo blog, Fashion and Film Premieres with Rene. I chose this topic not only because I love film premieres, but also when it comes to this type of event, this wonderful actress always demonstrates to the public she has a major sense of fashion !

If in the movie Thomas Crown Affair, Rene was praised by her wardrobe and charisma, in the film premiere (on July 1999), it wasn't different. Her wardrobe for the premiere consisted in simple, but sexy clothes, like this Celine dress in this pic below. Or this black ensemble on this pic above. 
Both looks fitted her very well, along with the makeup (by Shane Paish), the red hair (made by Enzo Angileri) and a few acessories.

Another look that caught my attention is the white ensemble Rene wore on this pic below. When she pulled a bit of her blouse, she demonstrates to the public her "Catherine Banning side", which is her very sexy side. At any age, specially now, Rene is always remembered by her sexiness (along with her talent!)

According to Summer Brennan in an article in The Guardian on March 20, 2019: "There was an image in my mind of a certain kind of woman – professional, feminine, poised – that I wanted to embody. I saw these women daily, year after year, backstage to the halls of power, on benches by the ladies’ room, changing in and out of comfortable and uncomfortable shoes."

What Ms Brennan is trying to say is the high heels have pros and cons. The pros are elegance, feminity, power; and the cons are back and joint pain and vein swelling.

Ms Russo, in any movie or any fashion campaign in she appears over the years, is portraying a elegant and highly attractive woman. And also a goddess, a powerful woman, seductress and elegant duchess.  

Some examples of this portrayal of woman include The Intern and specially Thomas Crown Affair, or even in all Nightcrawler premieres in New York City and Toronto. 

High heels combine perfectly with beautiful dresses. When Rene wore this combo high heels + dress, women and specially men fell in LOVE with her, not only because her finesse, but also because of her very beautiful legs!

This wonderful actress also takes care with her stilettos, because of the pain and also the risk of having scoliosis again (Rene had once before becoming a model). That's why Ms Russo doesn't use a very high height in her high heel. It makes her more comfortable.

Many celebrities stay great only with makeup on, but ugly without makeup, and Rene Russo is NOT one of these celebrities. Ms. Russo doesn't need lots of makeup everyday, because her natural beauty is inside and outside of her. 

For everyone's curiosity, this wonderful ex-model now actress has worked with many makeup artists, from whom Rene's sympathy is praised by them: Sandy Linter (in her modeling days), Shane Paish (in the Thomas Crown era), Hiromi Ando and nowadays, Kéla Wong. All great profissionals and nice people.

Makeup artist Shane Paish, known for making up celebrities such as Charlize Theron, was very graceful for making up Rene Russo for the movie The Thomas Crown Affair, in 1999: "That's such a great memory for me".

When the man is bare chested, we call it shirtlessness. And what about when the woman is on this same situation as the man? It's called toplessness or simplifying, topless. It was used earlier in the 60s, specifically in 1964. In many countries, topless is normal; but in others, topless can be prosecuted as indecent exposure, lewd behavior ou disorderly conduct.

Even semi-nude or topless, Rene Russo shows her beautiful body in action, even on movies or on photoshoots.

But way before Thomas Crown Affair, where many people remember Rene's character Catherine Banning's nude and topless scenes, until today, the wonderful actress, when she was a model, she already had done photoshoots in topless, specially with Albert Watson, Francesco Scavullo, Patrick Demarchelier and Richard Avedon.

In my opinion, I think there's nothing wrong with topless, I think it is something very natural, and makes the women live more, such as Ms. Russo. Even sleeping nude is way healthier, because it reduces anxiety and stress in a significant way and it makes Rene even gain more confidence, which is in the case of her nude and topless scenes in Thomas Crown Affair.

Even though in US it isn't winter, in Brazil this season is coming just on June 21. On winter, lots of coats and jackets are a big trend. No matter colored or printed, Rene Russo always rocks this piece of clothing, because it makes this wonderful actress a sex kitten, even on fashion shows or in movies.

Rene Russo's main trends in fashion: jacket, leather, prints, black, white, a sexy blouse and something in which favors her legs. One example is in the movie Big Trouble (2002). Her character, Anna, is a mix of Lorna Cole of Lethal Weapon 3 & 4 (1992/1998) and Catherine Banning in Thomas Crown Affair (1999). In this picture above, she's wearing a wonderful zebra-printed coat.

In the 70s, fur coats were so popular in fashion world. But nowadays... these fur coats considered a fashion crime, due to sustentability aspects and because it's against the enviroment (the animals in extinction).

One of my favorite looks ever, because Ms. Russo is so conscious not to look ugly, but yes sexy and very beautiful, like in this pic above. Also I love the color balance between black and white, which she adores!!!

Rene Russo's Fashion Lookbook: Black and White Clothes, Perfect for Any Occasion! (Part 1)

Do you know about Ange ou Demon, a famous parfum by Givenchy? That's one of my favourite parfums I adore to use. Associating to fashion, "Ange" means a lighter color, so I chose the color white, and "Demon" means a darker color, so I chose the color black. Combining both colors, it's just the perfect combination and it shows lots of balance.

The best way to make the white top and black bottom look work is to choose interesting silhouettes and textures. In Rene Russo's case, her outfits have an amazing statement. It has a mix of diferent fabrics, a white cotton shirt with a leather pant. It makes her look very chic.

Or in Writer's Guild Awards, she wore a black leather dress with a bit of cotton fabric (showing a little bit of her bra underneath), wearing golden hoops and with a clutch, which is not shown in this pic below !

Who loves Coco Chanel? Or going to Paris, land of the Eiffel Tower? That's what this post is all about, Paris-inspired looks. And also, last week, there was Paris Fashion Week, with lots of stunning looks. 

Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel had a difficult beginning (just like Rene had). But this beginning and her sewing techniques helped Chanel to inspire the transformation of menswear to amazing womenswear.

Rene Russo loves being chic and she is like a jet-setter lady (since her modeling career!). The two first pics on this post, one for the ad of Chanel n.19 in the 70s and later, on Thomas Crown Affair. In both images, Ms. Russo wears a beautiful long dress and some pearls, and also a beautiful red short hair (made by talented hairstylist Enzo Angileri). Very Coco Chanel-inspired.

Even on Paris, girls love lingerie. It makes then very sexy, and it shows the discret hint of sensuality.  Push-up bras or padded pieces won't be found. Instead, Parisians focus on finding bras and underwear in flattering silhouettes that look good underneath their clothes or even as part of the outfit. A blazer or button-down shirt might be intentionally unbuttoned to show a small glimpse of a lace bra underneath.  

A body or a babydoll, just like Rene is wearing, is just perfect for her. It makes her feel very hot and impressive (specially for men!).

And even on her recent movie, Velvet Buzzsaw (2019), the talented actress loves a beautiful leopard printed blouse. For Rene Russo, this print is just perfect for her, it makes her look very sexy and doesn't look that she's 65, but yes 20 or 25 years younger.

Rene Russo's Fashion Lookbook: All About Leather !!!

Leather is the most ancient fabric EVER in the history of fashion world (that was about between 5.500 and 7.000 years ago). This fabric, over the ages, represented, power (18th century), rebellion (the 50s) or elegance (since the 80s). 

But as I said on "Rene's same outfits on same occassions", Rene's first leather outfits was on the movie The Thomas Crown Affair (1999), where she has the best wardrobe ever, making Ms. Russo's Catherine Banning a sexy character.

Talking about Thomas Crown movie, one of the great pieces Rene wore was a leather jacket (and I am a big fan of this piece), showing a bit of naughtiness in Catherine Banning, besides her sexy and romantic side. It is shown in her eyes and in her subtle walk.

Leather also is available in any color... like in the black-and-yellow dress Ms. Russo wore in The Bourne Legacy premiere in 2012. It outlines her great body figure, showing that her sensuality is ageless. To complete the package, some high-heels and a leather clutch... Work it girl !!!

To complete her look, some bright gold acessories, such as bright golden hoops (and she loves that earrings, she's the "queen of the golden hoops"), a leather clutch and some sandals. 

She looks very sexy, and it's shown a little bit of her lingerie... and many people (including many men) made her fall in love!!!!

Her main trick to be stylish in the red carpet: Be sexy, not vulgar.

And the red hair is back to fashion. And Rene Russo is also great in blonde hair.

For her character, Rene went to Beth Minardi Salon in New York City, and Beth (the colorist) started by darkening Russo's hair with a red base. Then she added subtle blond highlights. It was such a great success, until today !
