Rene Russo Fanpage Fashion Lookbook: Why do High heels turn Rene Russo a powerful woman

Rene Russo in Thomas Crown Affair: along with a sexy outfit (and a good one).
(photo - MGM Pictures)
According to Summer Brennan in an article in The Guardian on March 20, 2019: "There was an image in my mind of a certain kind of woman – professional, feminine, poised – that I wanted to embody. I saw these women daily, year after year, backstage to the halls of power, on benches by the ladies’ room, changing in and out of comfortable and uncomfortable shoes."

What Ms Brennan is trying to say is the high heels have pros and cons. The pros are elegance, feminity, power; and the cons are back and joint pain and vein swelling.

Ms Russo, in any movie or any fashion campaign in she appears over the years, is portraying a elegant and highly attractive woman. And also a goddess, a powerful woman, seductress and elegant duchess.

Some examples of this portrayal of woman include The Intern and specially Thomas Crown Affair, or even in all Nightcrawler premieres in New York City and Toronto.

High heels combine perfectly with beautiful dresses. When Rene wore this combo high heels + dress, women and specially men fell in LOVE with her, not only because her finesse, but also because of her very beautiful legs!

she wears, she looks very powerful ! (photo - Richard Avedon)
This wonderful actress also takes care with her stilettos, because of the pain and also the risk of having scoliosis again (Rene had once before becoming a model). That's why Ms Russo doesn't use a very high height in her high heel. It makes her more comfortable.

RENE RUSSO SPECIAL: What is bipolar disorder and how Rene Russo coped with it!

Rene Russo: "I'm not brave for admitting my bipolar disorder".
(photo - Archive)
October 15, 2014. Rene Russo, along with Jake Gyllenhaal, were promoting the movie Nightcrawler on the Queen Latifah show. In one moment, Ms Russo revealed she had bipolar disorder since she was a child. "It's like a stop and go", she said.

It ain't easy for a person to cope with bipolar disorder. Also known as manic-depressive illness, this disorder affects the brain and causes changes in mood, activity levels and the ability of executing everyday tasks. Some factors of the bipolar disorder are the brain structure and function, genetics or heredity.

Rene Russo told host Robin Roberts in Good Morning America in 2014:
"Unfortunately I think anxiety and depression are hard to live with" (photo - Archive)
2 weeks ago, makeup artist Sandy Linter, who worked with Rene Russo in her modeling career, confessed about the actress, model Gia Carangi (who died in November 1986 due to AIDS illness) and bipolar disorder on her Instagram account: "I was (also) thinking of young Saoirse Kennedy Hill who died of a drug overdose. She often mentioned her depression. In Gia's case I don't think her depression was ignored so much as not understood. (...) I just know the stigma is lessened because people like Rene Russo speak openly."

When Rene Russo revealed she had this kind of illness, she had the great opportunity to stay more beautiful, do more exercise and also take medication, although she said "medication is for high pressure". And these chances, fortunately, are well-suceeded until now.

Anyway, we're so proud of Rene Russo that she is coping very well with bipolar disorder, and that everyday, she is gaining more confidence. Even this disease has no cure, Ms Russo is gaining everyday support of friends, family and even fans to increase Rene's self esteem.

Rene Russo Fashion Special: Rene Russo and the 70’s fashion style !

Rene Russo with lots of elegance.
(photo - Francesco Scavullo/Vogue Italia)
If the 60's fashion style was about modernism and haute couture, the 70's was all about individuality. According to Vogue magazine, there are no rules in the fashion game now, due to the cheap synthetic clothing overproduction flooding the market. And in this era happened the birth of casual chic clothes, which consisted of jackets, sneakers, t-shirts, jeans and sweaters.

As shown in this Scavullo's photoshoot of Rene Russo (portraying as a chic, elegant lady), this wonderful actress looks always very good. This photoshoot is one of her first steps for Rene's elegance in everyday life.

Tailored clothing, as shown above, began to exist on the fashion world on the occasion of the rose of divorce rate and the progressive addition to women to the work force, that changed habits of shopping styles and fashion. A feminine version of men's business suits included tailored jackets, midi-skirts and fitted blouses. They were great choices for "dress for success".

Yves Saint Laurent was so popular in the 60s and 70s.
(photo - Francesco Scavullo/Vogue Italia)
In this picture above, Rene Russo is wearing an Yves Saint Laurent dress, proving the maximum elegance she has. Saint Laurent, along with Halston, were the most popular designers in the fashion world in the 70's. Even after the designers' deaths, both brands remain popular nowadays.

Fur coats were popular in the 70s, now it's considered a fashion crime.

Last but not least, a great 70s trend was the fur coat, but today, this outfit is considered a fashion crime, due to environmental issues, like I said before in the jacket trend post I wrote in June. Nevertheless, Rene Russo is rocking this coat in this photoshoot above, also done by Mr. Scavullo, along with leather boots and a long skirt. Very fancy and elegant!!

Character in Focus: Rita Lewis, from "One Good Cop"

Rene Russo in action as Rita Lewis, a seamstress and a devoted mother.
(photo - Archive)
After starting her career in two comedies (Major League and Mr Destiny) and the TV series Sable, Rene Russo does her first dramatic role in One Good Cop, of 1991. When she portrayed Rita Lewis, I feel Rene was training to be a real mother, which really happened in August 1993.

Rene Russo ironed her hair in one of her scenes of One Good Cop: chic and elegant!
(photo - Archive)
WHAT DOES THIS LAST PHRASE MEAN? Because Rita, from this movie, initially was a seamstress and married with Artie Lewis, played by Michael Keaton, the eternal Batman. But when Steve Diroma (Anthony LaPaglia, from The Salton Sea and the TV series Without a Trace) dies in a shooting, both adopt his three beautiful girls. But in her real life, Rene had a great option of having only one girl with Dan Gilroy: Rose Gilroy.

In the US, many adoption agencies do the home study procedure of the adoption process themselves, but others outsource them or require the parents to find people to do it. In 2015, 5647 children were adopted from overseas by US families, while 50,644 were adopted from foster care in 2014.
There are many ways of adoption: international, domestic, independent or even foster care.

Artie and Rita want to adopt Stevie's girls, but Child Welfare Services decides that their apartment is too small for three children. Artie needs to buy a house, which would require a $25,000 down payment that he doesn't have. Artie uses most of the take to buy the house, and he gives the rest to Father Wills (Vondie Curtis-Hall), who runs a local orphanage. However, what Artie doesn't know is that Beniamino's girlfriend Grace (Rachel Ticotin) is actually an undercover cop who won't stand by as Artie plays Robin Hood.

Rene Russo, the makeup lover !

Rene Russo and current make-up artist Kéla Wong, in 2017.
(photo - Archive)
Many celebrities stay great only with makeup on, but ugly without makeup, and Rene Russo is NOT one of these celebrities. Ms. Russo doesn't need lots of makeup everyday, because her natural beauty is inside and outside of her.

For everyone's curiosity, this wonderful ex-model now actress has worked with many makeup artists, from whom Rene's sympathy is praised by them: Sandy Linter (in her modeling days), Shane Paish (in the Thomas Crown era), Hiromi Ando and nowadays, Kéla Wong. All great profissionals and nice people.

Rene Russo: her natural beauty is also inside and outside.

Her secrets of beauty include no drinking and no smoking and a few laser treatments, because she doesn't want to mess herself too much (few celebrities, such as Meg Ryan and Donatella Versace, have lots of plastic surgeries, specially on the face). And also she loves a good spa and doing exercise 5 times per day, one part of the body.

Rene Russo's makeup is perfect for any clothing she wears or any hair style she has.

In photoshoots and even in movies, Rene Russo's makeup is perfect for any clothes she wears or any hairstyle she has, because of one key word: natural beauty. In any movie she appears, Rene Russo is always praised for her acting, even with or without makeup.

Makeup artist Shane Paish, known for making up celebrities such as Charlize Theron, was very graceful for making up Rene Russo for the movie The Thomas Crown Affair, in 1999: "That's such a great memory for me".

My Impressions about Velvet Buzzsaw: the Relationship between Art World and Supernatural

Rene Russo, Jake Gyllenhaal and Zawe Ashton: the main characters of Velvet Buzzsaw.
(photo - Archive)
After a great debut in Nightcrawler, in 2014, Dan Gilroy did a similar version of that movie, now retitled as Velvet Buzzsaw. If Nightcrawler retreated the television world, Velvet Buzzsaw retreats the art world. The movie was great in special effects, screams and obviously, the main cast.

Rene Russo's Rhodora Haze is a mix of two characters made by her: Nina Romina, of Nightcrawler, and Catherine Banning, of Thomas Crown Affair. Rhodora is ambitious, smart, sexy and elegant. Ex-punk rocker, now a gallery owner, along with Josephina (Zawe Ashton), an ambitious gallery worker, Morf (Jake Gyllenhaal), an art critic, and Gretchen (Toni Collette), a consultant, are involved into a painter called Vetril Dease.

In my opinion, the supernatural part of the movie was inspired on the music video Somewhere I Belong, by California band Linkin Park, in 2003.

Billy Magnussen (Bryson) and Daveed Diggs (Damrish), who were revealed on Law and Order franchise, along with Natalia Dyer (Coco), revealed on the Netflix series Stranger Things, Tom Sturridge (Jon Dondon) and John Malkovich (Piers) are also great, even on small roles.

Rene Russo in Velvet Buzzsaw: extremely elegant as always.
(photo - Netflix)
Dan Gilroy is an L.A. version of also director Martin Scorsese, because he shows a darker version of Los Angeles, and Martin Scorsese shows a darker version of New York City (as shown in Taxi Driver, with Robert De Niro). The only thing missing in Gilroy's movies is a director cameo (like Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino, from Pulp Fiction).

I hope the next Dan Gilroy movie will be about the fashion world, inspired in the music video Beautiful Girl, by INXS, and starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Rene Russo and one of the past romantic pairs of Rene Russo (more likely Robert De Niro or Pierce Brosnan).

Hope u like it.
